A gentle, stove top cooked, recipe made with chicken, salmon, veggies and rice. This one-pot meal is ideal for owners who want to batch cook on the stove top using highly digestible proteins with a slow-release carbohydrate source.
Method (Stove top)
Add the dry rice, chicken thigh, chicken gizzards, carrots and squash and 118 ml water to a large saucepan.
Cover and cook gently for around 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add the liver and cook for another 7–8 minutes.
Add the salmon and spinach and cook for a further 5–6 minutes.
Stir in the beaten egg and cook for another 2–3 minutes, until everything is fully cooked.
Remove from the heat and allow to cool. The mixture should be firm but still moist. If needed, add a small amount of cooled boiled water.
Once cool, mix in the canola oil, eggshell powder, nutritional yeast, kelp, zinc, manganese and salt very thoroughly.
Weigh the finished food and add a little cooled boiled water if needed to bring the total batch to 1 kg.
Will keep in the fridge for 2-3 days or portion up and freeze for up to 3 months
