Venison & Duck Casserole

A hearty, gently cooked one-pot venison casserole for dogs made with lean venison, nutrient-rich duck liver, millet, and two dog-safe vegetables, then carefully balanced with eggshell powder, kelp, oils, and targeted supplements to support adult maintenance nutrition. It’s designed as a home-cooked, complete-style meal with a soft casserole texture that’s easy to portion, freeze, and serve

Method:

Gas Mark 3 (roughly 160°C conventional / 140°C fan)

Preheat oven to Gas Mark 3.

  1. In a lidded casserole dish add:

    • 25g raw millet

    • 100g carrots

    • 100g courgette

    • 765g venison

    • 66g duck liver

    • 250–300ml water/bone broth (start at 250ml, add more if needed)

Cover tightly with the lid (or foil).

Cook time at Gas Mark 3: 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes.

    • Stir once at ~1 hour.

    • If it looks dry at the stir, add 50–100ml extra liquid.

It’s done when carrots are soft and the millet is fully tender (no hard grains), and the meat is cooked through.

    Cool fully, then stir in:

    • 6g hempseed oil

    • 6g eggshell powder

    • 2g kelp

    • 3g nutritional yeast

    • 1 x manganese supplement crushed

    • 2 x choline supplements crushed
